After an initial training period, the Account Manager will operate from a home office within the Southeast region and travel approximately 20% to visit customers, support projects, and strengthen relationships.

The Account Manager/Senior Account Manager will be responsible for developing and expanding customer relationships across a defined regional territory. This position focuses on a consultative, solutions‑driven sales approach, partnering closely with customers to understand their technical needs, recommend appropriate products, and support ongoing applications. You’ll work collaboratively with internal technical, laboratory, and commercial teams to ensure customers receive exceptional service and timely support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a regional sales territory through regular customer engagement, technical discussions, and strategic account planning.

  • Provide consultative support, including product recommendations, sample coordination, and basic troubleshooting in partnership with technical teams.

  • Maintain accurate and timely CRM documentation, sales reports, and territory activity updates.

  • Identify new business opportunities through ongoing market awareness, customer feedback, and competitive insights.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support customer projects, coordinate lab work, and ensure timely follow‑up.

  • Participate in training, professional development, and industry associations to strengthen technical and commercial knowledge.

  • Support regional and national initiatives as assigned, contributing to cross‑functional projects and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of commercial experience with strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.

  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field

  • Ability to work independently from a home office while staying connected to a collaborative team.

  • Interest in technical products, applications, and problem‑solving.

  • Solid organizational habits and comfort managing multiple priorities.

  • Willingness to travel approximately ~20% within the region after initial training.
